Emelie Sjöström is a classically trained multi-percussionist based in Sweden. She is primarily working in the field of art music but has done crossover projects and tours with jazz musicians and pop artists. After finishing her studies in chamber music by Örebro University in Sweden, she has been freelancing as a musician both nationally and internationally. She is especially interested in contemporary music and has been working with composers from Sweden, Hong Kong, USA, Australia, Czech Republic among others. Emelie started to compose her own music during the pandemic which resulted in three solo works for multi-percussion: URMI, The Raving Ones, and Dvala inspired by mythological women and natural phenomenon.
